One of the many advantages of club membership is the opportunity to join group excursions to wholesale nurseries.
Recently, members enjoyed a scenic journey through the hills during autumn, when the deciduous trees were at their most spectacular, showcasing a magnificent display of seasonal colour.
At the Carmel Bromeliad Nursery, our host, Derryn, shared his passion and extensive knowledge of bromeliads, highlighting the many ways these fascinating plants can be used in the garden. The stunning display and remarkable variety of colours he has bred were a delight to see and greatly appreciated by all who attended.
Pictured above is a photo of my humble attempt at creating a garden feature using bromeliads and mallee roots. These hardy plants are remarkably easy to care for and have already added interest and character to the garden. As they grow and mature, I hope to share future photos showcasing a much more impressive display of their colour, form, and beauty.
